OPENING DECEMBER 2026
OPENING DECEMBER 2026
Expea is where energy comes to life. Through an interactive journey of discovery, you will immerse yourself in the world of water, technology, and history. Energy becomes light. Becomes motion. Becomes an experience.
Here, you will discover how the power of water is transformed into the energy that fuels our everyday lives, not only by watching, but by exploring and experimenting for yourself.
A place where energy becomes visible from entirely new perspectives.
Water, technology, and interaction come together, creating a unique approach to a subject that connects past, present, and future.
Expea invites visitors to take a closer look, ask questions, and discover the world of energy from new angles.
Here, you become part of the experience.
Spaces respond to movement, energy is brought to life through interaction, and observation turns into participation. Complex concepts become intuitive experiences as you see electricity being created and invisible forces becoming visible.
Learning happens naturally here.
Installations, experiments, and quizzes help visitors to understand the world of energy, step by step.
You will also learn the differences between voltage, electric current, and power output. Complex relationships become clear, and energy becomes a tangible part of everyday life.

This is where the visitor experience reaches its peak. Inside the 4D room, you will immerse yourself in fascinating landscapes inspired by the breathtaking natural beauty of South Tyrol. Water and mountains take center stage.
Projections on walls and floors create a dynamic environment that continuously changes in response to visitors' movements.
At Expea, energy becomes a tangible phenomenon.
Experiments and games invite visitors to generate, transform, and understand energy themselves. Along the way, you will discover what concepts such as watts, volts, and amperes really mean and how these units relate to one another.
Within the setting of the Cardano Power Plant, in operation since 1929, Expea offers visitors the opportunity to discover an important symbol of South Tyrol’s energy history. From the site, visitors can view both the power plant itself and the iconic penstocks that run from the surge tank down to the plant.
